I Refused to Cancel My Honeymoon Despite My In-Law’s Tragedy

My in-laws were in a car accident, and while they survived, they were seriously injured. My husband felt he couldn’t leave them in the hospital, but I insisted, “I’m your wife; you should prioritize me first!” He refused, so I went on our honeymoon alone.

While there, I was shocked to see a Facebook post of him having coffee with a female friend. I immediately called him and said, “It doesn’t seem like you’re spending much time at the hospital.” He responded, clearly annoyed, saying, “This photo was taken in the hospital cafeteria. My friend Amy came to support me during this difficult time, which is more than I can say for you!”

Ten days later, I returned home, only to find a note on the table that read, “It’s better if we spend some time apart. It seems you don’t understand the value of family.” I’m devastated and feel like my marriage is over before it really began, but I still believe he should have joined me on our honeymoon.
