OUTNUMBERED ~ ONE HOUR CINNAMON ROLLS

Introduction:
There’s something truly special about fresh cinnamon rolls, especially when they can be made in just about an hour! This recipe, passed down by Camille Paskett and Shanna Roberts, promises cinnamon-swirled goodness without needing to fuss over leftovers (there won’t be any). With a fluffy, buttery dough and a sweet cinnamon-sugar filling, these cinnamon rolls are perfect for any occasion. Whether you prefer classic frosting or want to venture into variations like orange or chocolate rolls, this versatile recipe has something for everyone.

Ingredients:
Dough:
3 1/2 cups warm water
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
6 tablespoons yeast (SafInstant recommended)
1 tablespoon salt
3 eggs
10 1/2 cups flour

Cinnamon-Sugar Filling:
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/4 cup melted butter (per half of dough)
Frosting:
1/2 cup butter (1 cube)
2 dashes of salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
6 cups powdered sugar
Milk, to desired consistency

Variations:
Orange Rolls: Add frozen orange juice concentrate to frosting.
Chocolate Rolls: Add cocoa powder and a few drops of water to frosting.
Cream Cheese Rolls: Blend in softened cream cheese with frosting.

Directions:
Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 1/2 cups warm water, 3/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup oil, and 6 tablespoons yeast. Let this mixture sit for 15 minutes until frothy.

Add Remaining Ingredients:
Stir in 1 tablespoon salt, 3 eggs, and 10 1/2 cups flour. Using a dough hook (Bosch mixers are recommended), knead for 10 minutes. Let the dough rest for another 10 minutes.

Shape the Rolls:
Oil a cookie sheet. Divide the dough in half and press each half into a rectangle. Spread 1/4 cup melted butter across the dough, then sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Roll the dough tightly but not too tight, and slice into 12 rolls. Repeat with the second half of the dough.

Let Rise and Bake:
Place the rolls on a greased cookie sheet and allow them to rise until doubled in size (rising time will vary depending on warmth and humidity). Preheat the oven to 400°F and bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Frosting:
While the rolls are baking, prepare the frosting by creaming together 1/2 cup butter, salt, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Add milk gradually to reach your preferred consistency. Once the rolls are baked, generously frost them while they’re still warm.

Serving and Storage Tips:
These cinnamon rolls are best served fresh out of the oven, but they can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days. If you’d like to store them longer, freeze the baked rolls (without frosting) and thaw before frosting and reheating.
