This is called ‘Garbage Bread’ but it tastes like pure gold!

Ingredient Quantity
For the Filling:
Ground Beef 1 pound
Diced Onion ½ cup
Salt ¼ teaspoon
Pepper ¼ teaspoon
Ketchup ⅓ cup
Mustard 3 tablespoons
Cooked and Crumbled Bacon 6 slices
Chopped Dill Pickle Spears 2
American Cheese Slices 8
For the Bread:
Refrigerated French Bread Dough 1 (11-ounce) tube
Large Egg, Beaten 1
Sesame Seeds 1 tablespoon
For Serving:
Thousand Island Dressing
Instructions:
Prepare the Filling:

Cook the Beef and Onion: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until browned and tender (about 8-10 minutes). Crumble the beef as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper.
Drain and Add Flavor: Drain excess fat from the skillet. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Stir in the ketchup, mustard, and crumbled bacon.
Assemble the Bread:

Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
Roll Out the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the refrigerated French bread dough into a large rectangle (about 12×8 inches).
Layer the Filling: Spread the cooled beef mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle the chopped dill pickles over the beef mixture, followed by a layer of American cheese slices.
Roll Up and Seal: Starting from a long side, carefully roll up the dough into a tight log. Pinch the seams and ends to seal. Place the rolled bread seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake the Garbage Bread:

Egg Wash and Sesame Seeds: Brush the top of the rolled bread with the beaten egg. Sprinkle with sesame seeds for extra flavor and texture.
Bake it Up: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
