“My boyfriend requested I make this and I had never even heard of it! Tracked down the recipe and gave it a try.”

Ingredients:
Ingredient Quantity
Unsalted Butter ½ cup
All-Purpose Flour 2 ½ cups
Baking Powder 4 teaspoons
White Sugar 4 teaspoons
Salt 1 teaspoon
Fresh Buttermilk 1 ¾ cups
Instructions:
Preheat and Prep (5 minutes):

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it for easy cleanup.
Cut in the Butter (5 minutes):

In a large mixing bowl, cut the cold, unsalted butter into small cubes.
Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, work the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Combine Dry Ingredients (2 minutes):

Add the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt to the bowl with the butter mixture.
Gently mix everything together until just combined.
Add Buttermilk and Form (5 minutes):

Pour in the buttermilk and stir with a spoon or spatula until the dough just comes together. It should be slightly sticky but manageable.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat it into a rectangle about 1-inch thick.

Cut and Bake (5 minutes):

Use a round biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass to cut out biscuits from the dough. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each biscuit. Gather any remaining dough scraps, pat them out, and cut out more biscuits.
Melt the remaining butter and pour it generously over the tops of the biscuits.
Bake and Serve (12-15 minutes):

Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the biscuits cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
Enjoy these warm and fluffy biscuits on their own, with additional butter, or your favorite jam.
