Classic Hamburger Hash
Ingredients:
INGREDIENTS AMOUNT
Russet potatoes (peeled & chopped) 3 medium
Ground beef 1 lb
White onion, chopped 1 medium
Olive oil 1 tablespoon
Sharp Cheddar cheese 2 1/2 cups
Minced garlic 2 teaspoons
Italian seasoning 1 tablespoon
Salt and black pepper To taste
How To Make Classic Hamburger Hash:
Step 1: Prep the Components: Place your potato chunks in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until they are just tender (about 8/10 minutes), then drain. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook the 1 lb of ground beef with the chopped onion and 2 teaspoons of garlic until the meat is browned. Drain off any excess fat.

Step 2: Season and Crisp: Season the meat mixture with salt, pepper, and the 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning. Add the boiled potatoes into the skillet with the meat along with the 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes have developed a nice light brown crust.

Step 3: Make it Cheesy: Sprinkle the 2 1/2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese over the skillet and remove it from the heat. Gently fold the cheese into the warm meat and potatoes until it is melted and stringy.

Step 4: Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley or chopped green onions. Serve immediately while hot and bubbly.

Pro Tips for the Perfect Hash
Potato Size: Try to cut your potatoes into uniform 1/2-inch chunks so they boil and brown at the same rate.

The “Crust”: Once you add the potatoes to the skillet, try not to stir them too frequently. Letting them sit against the hot pan for a couple of minutes at a time is what creates those delicious crispy bits.
