Coconut Chewies

Introduction
In the area of delicious snacks, coconut chewies taste like paradise. They are a perfect combination of sweetness and nuttiness that cannot be resisted. Coconut chewies make a great snack for your craving or you can please your guests with some homemade dessert.

Ingredients:
2 cups desiccated coconut

1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

 

Directions:
Please warm your oven to 350°F (175°C) and place a baking sheet on it covered with parchment paper.

Combine shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, flour, vanilla extract, and salt in a large bowl. Mix until combined.

Using spoon or cookie scoop portion out dough and roll it into small balls.

Place the balls on prepared baking sheet gently flattening them with the palm of your hand.

Bake until edges are browned which takes 10-12 minutes approximately.

For several minutes let these products stay on the tray then transfer them to wire rack in order to cool completely.

Go for high quality shredded coconut and condensed milk to boost up the taste of your chewies.

2. Don’t Overmix the Dough

Take caution while mixing your dough, overmixing it may result into having tough or very dense chewies. Mix until just combined for a tender texture.

Don’t let them bake too long in the oven; keep an eye on them to avoid this. They should be golden brown around the edges when done.
