How do you know if you have a cockroach problem? How do you get rid of them? Is seeing just 1 or 2 bad?

Cockroaches are one of the most common household pests and can pose significant health risks to humans if they become established in your home. They are known for their resilience and ability to breed rapidly, which can make them particularly challenging to control. Recognizing the signs of a cockroach problem is the first step toward reclaiming your space from these unwanted intruders.
Recognizing the Signs of a Cockroach Infestation
1. Seeing live cockroaches:
While spotting a single roach does not necessarily mean you have an infestation, it should serve as a red flag to be on the lookout for more. Cockroaches are nocturnal and typically hide during the day, so if you see one during daytime, there’s a good chance there are more lurking.

2. Cockroach droppings:
Small black droppings that look like coffee grounds or black pepper may indicate a cockroach problem. These feces are often found in areas where food is stored, such as kitchen cabinets or drawers.
3. Egg cases and shed skins:
Cockroaches shed their skin 5-8 times as they mature. You may find these skins in areas such as behind furniture or in between books. Egg cases, or oothecae, are oval-shaped and contain multiple eggs. Discovering these is a sure sign of an existing or developing infestation.
4. Offensive odor:
A musty, unpleasant smell that persists can be a sign of a serious infestation. This odor is caused by the pheromones that cockroaches produce and can be a warning of their presence before you even see one.
