These homemade biscuits aim to capture the classic flavor of KFC’s beloved side. They’re flaky, buttery, and perfect for sopping up gravy or enjoying on their own.

 

Ingredients:
Ingredient Quantity
All-purpose flour 2 cups
Baking powder 1 tablespoon
White granulated sugar 2 teaspoons
Cream of tartar 1/2 teaspoon
Salt 1/2 teaspoon
Butter, chilled 1/2 cup
Milk 2/3 cup
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 415°F (215°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar, and salt.

Cut in chilled butter using a pastry blender, your hands, or a fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add milk and stir with a fork until the dough comes together.
On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough until smooth.
Roll out the dough to a 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into 3-inch biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a knife.
Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and risen.
Serve immediately or let cool slightly.
