This recipe from my nana is over 100 years old and it’s seriously no fail! Best ever recipe!

 

Ingredients:

 

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 ¾ cups shortening

½ cup water

3 tablespoons white sugar

1 egg

2 teaspoons salt

Instructions:

 

Combine Dry Ingredients:

 

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and sugar.

Add Shortening:

 

Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Create the Dough:

 

In a separate small bowl, beat the egg.

Add the beaten egg and water to the flour mixture, stirring until the dough forms.

Divide and Chill:

 

Divide the dough into four equal parts. This recipe makes enough for four pie crusts.

Chill the dough in the refrigerator until you’re ready to use it.

On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to fit your pie pan.
