“In The Still Of The Night” is a timeless song written by Fred Parris and originally recorded by his group, The Five Satins. While it had modest success upon its initial release, the song has since become a beloved classic, earning widespread airplay and recognition as one of the greatest doo-wop songs ever created. Over the years, it has been covered by numerous artists, including Boyz II Men and Debbie Gibson, and has appeared in several films.

Parris penned this iconic track in 1955 while in the basement of a local church. The song’s popularity surged when it was included on the 1987 Dirty Dancing soundtrack, introducing it to a whole new generation of listeners. The Rolling Stones even ranked “In The Still Of The Night” at number 90 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in 2010.
